Way to Pulini

This is Twenty First Century...
And the life today is more complex here...
Especially for women...

The importance of women and the value of them in society increases but at the same time they are being haunted at various phases of their life.  The real strength of she is herself....

In January 2011, we, a group of artists thought to make a wake-up call to the so-called weaker sex.  She has to be aware of her own strength.  And the product of our venture is "PULINI" (Lady Leopard).  This short movie is originated in the Indian language Malayalam, where we introduced a new term 'pulini' with the literal meaning of Lady Leopard.

This work was completed in a one day schedule and all the outdoor scenes are in natural day light.  While 'PULINI' was in its green room, a tragedy had happened at Shoranur, Kerala.  A girl named Soumya was attacked by a one-armed beggar in a passenger train and died thereafter.  Can read more from here...

This incident made us to think again of the relevance of this concept in today's society.  Hence we dedicate this work to the fated girl Soumya with a big salute for her martyrdom.
